Eco-Structure, a blog that covers all things green in the architecture world, is currently running an article featuring the University of Cincinnati CARE/Crawely Building that Brad has photographed extensively. The articile discusses all of the ways that <ahref="http://www.studiosarchitecture.com/">Studios Architecture was able to re-invigorate an existing 30 plus year building with a brand new LEED Gold certified addition that brings a whole new sense of community to the school.

Becton Dickinson featured in Landscape World

Becton Dickinson, which Brad photographed way back in the spring of 2008, has just recently been featured in Landscape World, a Korean Design magazine. The article covers the way that RMJM Hillier was able to solve the company's problem of having two separated buildings that house R&D and Business Administration; the separation of which created two entirely separate corporate cultures. To unite both parts of the company the architects decided to create a large, mostly subterranean, cafeteria and commons facility. By placing the building predominately underground they were also able to preserve one of the defining features of the campus, the great lawn that spans the space between the two existing facilities.

We're a Favorite Place on Google!!

We're a favorite place on Google!! How cool is that? It means that a lot of people who use google are looking for us, and at our work. What it means to be a favorite place is that google is now making it easier than ever to find us. They've sent us a window decal that we can attach to our window that has a barcode that is formulated for cell phone cameras to read. Once they scan the barcode it launches a the browser straight to a page containing information about our company!

We were surprised to find ourselves being a favorite place on google, but we're super excited about it!

For more information about Favorite places on Google please visit this page. To find out more about the various cell phone app required to access this cool feature please visit this page.

HospitalityStyle.com has written a very nice article on the Rivers Casino that Brad only recently shot. The article details what makes Rivers such a unique casino, unlike most casinos that seek to keep all of its customer's attention within itself the Rivers Casino tries to open the space up with great view of the Pittsburgh skyline.
"Lost in Egypt" published in CMH

The July and August issue of CMH just arrived at our studio the other day. I thought that I would mention it because it highlights Brad's trip to Egypt last year to aid COSI in their production of "Lost in Egypt exhibit that is currently open. The article, written by Kelli Gaza Nowinsky, who is the Public Relations Manager at COSI, is primarily an overview of the trip and amazing access that was given to COSI while they were putting the it all together. Which is fine by us, as it serves to be a wonderful vehicle to show off some more of Brad's awesome photography! If you're interested in getting the back story to the production of "Lost in Egypt check out the exhibit's blog that was updated daily while they were in Egypt.

If you happen to be local you can go and grab a free copy of CMH at just about any respectable location; something that we highly recommend doing, because in our opinion the magazine just keeps getting better. Plus so far we're two for two with getting them to publish Brad's photography.

2009 Corporate Caring Award!

Last Thursday feinknopf won a 2009 Corporate Caring Award; in the Arts & Humanities section for all of the work that we donated to various non-profit organizations in town last year.

The Corporate Caring Award is an annual award given out every year by Columbus Business First to celebrate corporate philanthropy. Already in its 13th year the Corporate Caring awards are given out to 3 companies in each of the 4 categories. Awards are given to small, medium, and large companies based on the amount of employees in one of the following categories: Arts & Humanities, Education, Environmental & Civic, and Health & Human Services.

To be given an award a company first has to be nominated for the award by an organization that they've done work for. Upon nomination they have to fill out a descriptive, and informational submittal. Which is then judged against all the other applicants.

We are very pleased and honored to receive an award and hope that we can continue to live up to its ideals in the coming years.

Building Design & Construction Cover!

We were just informed by Karlsberger today that one of Brad's shots of Levine Children's Hospital was chosen to be on the cover of this month's issue of Building Design & Construction Magazine. We're very excited that this project is getting the recognition that it deserves. The article cover's some of problems involved in designing a children's hospital, essentially how to make bright, warm and inviting without making it totally cheesy, raising the design but keeping it kid friendly. If you've ever been to the addition that Karlsberger did at Levine I think that we all can agree that it solves the problems involved wonderfully.

To read the article please visit Building Design & Construction's website, where if you notice they use one of Brad's photo as the website's current masthead, as well as featuring to more images of Brad's in the article.

We just found out today that Brad's Image of The University of Illinois Football Stadium is on the cover of this month's Modern Steel Construction.
It's always exciting to see one of our clients on the cover of a magazine, it is however even better to have it be our photo that's on the cover. To go and read the article and see our photo visit Modern Steel Construction's website.

Brad is featured in PDN PhotoServe.com Sample Lightbox

Brad has been featured in this months PDN PhotoServe.com's Sample Lightbox email campaign. It's exciting as his images have been emailed to nearly 15,000 people as part of their campaign to promote the site and it's features to creatives and photographers alike. It's cool that they chose Brad's images for this months presentation, it promotes them, and at the same time via an active link and photo credit promotes us and what we do. We're happy about that.

HHMI Janelia Farm Research Campus in Virginia Living

HHMI has just been published in Virginia Living magazine. The article deals with the importance of the work being done there. It's a general overview of the work, nothing too technical. The article is primarily a vehicle to enlighten their readers about the really cool research and work being done in their "backyard's" so to speak. However that being said it's really a very good overview of the work being done there; and highlights how important the advances being made there are to our society.

Unfortunately the magazine doesn't have the article on their website to be read by all. But if you happen to be in Virginia, please stop by the local news stand and pick up an issue; or if you're interested subscription information can be found on their website.

Vinoly in Architectural Lighting Magazine

We at the studio were just recently informed that two projects we shot for Rafael Vinoly Architects were featured in November’s Issue of Architectural Lighting. The projects are featured in separate articles and each deals with the unique lighting demands that each project brought to the table.

The article discussing the Center of Science at Bard College deals with the architects desires to remove all but faintest traces of lighting hardware, to light the space in a way that highlighted the architecture, and to do all of this without exceeding the College’s Budget. While the article dealing with California Nano Systems covers the unique challenges of creating a high light level work environment for the scientist and technicians. While at the same time meeting all of California’s rigorous energy efficiency regulations.

To read further on these challenges check out the online articles; since I think it might be hard to find at this point. The article for Bard is <a href=” http://www.archlighting.com/industry-news.asp?sectionID=0&articleID=816065”>here, while the article fore California Nano Systems is here. To find more details, at least architecturally, on each project; or to see what other cool projects their working on please visit Vinoly's website.
